Money In The Bank Review

The Money In The Bank pay per view was one of the most high anticipated events in the past few years. I would even go as far to say that it is the biggest non Wrestlemania show in the last 5 years. The event did not disappoint. I give it an A grade.

Smackdown Money In The Bank Match
The Smackdown Money in The Bank match was used to kick off the show. Starting the show with this match was great to get the blood pumping and also add to speculation that a briefcase may get cashed in. It was a lot back and forth action that kept the fans on their toes. The match allowed you to believe that any one of these guys could have won the match. The winner was surprise when Daniel Bryan was able to take down the magic briefcase. Can't wait to see where they take Bryan with this and how they book him.

Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella for Diva's Title
This match was decent for what the WWE usually does with Diva's matches on PPV's. They utilized their time well and Kelly Kelly retained her title.

Mark Henry vs The Big Show
This was a solid match to be on of the filler matches for the event. Mark Henry did a good job further establishing himself as a monster as he defeated The Big Show.

Raw Money In The Bank Match
The Raw Money In The Bank match started off a little silly as the participants started fighting with mini ladders. After the match got rolling it told a good story with lots of action. Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio put on awesome performances. The winner was Alberto Del Rio, which was not a surprise but the build up was great.

Christian vs Randy Orton for World Heavyweight Title
This is the 3rd time that Christian has met Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title on Pay Per View. This match was just as good and the previous two and they found a way to tell a different story. With the special stipulation that if Randy Orton got disqualified he would lose the title. With Christian playing up his plan for the past few weeks on Smackdown and executing that plan to perfection was awesome to see. Christian had to win for this storyline to stay fresh. This feud should last solidly throughout the summer.

John Cena vs CM Punk for The WWE Title
The most anticipated main event in recent WWE history did not disappoint as CM Punk and John Cena put on an excellent show. CM Punk worked his hometown Chicago crowd to perfection. He also debuted his new best in the world t-shirt. The crowd was very hostile to John Cena, which was reminiscent of his match with RVD at One Night Stand. The match was a great back and forth story just way too many finishers that didn't finish either guy. Vince McMahon made his presence felt in that match towards the which opened the door for Punk to hit the GTS on Cena. Mr. McMahon tried to orchestrate a screw job ending that was unsuccessful and also tried to get a MITB winner to cash in which was also unsuccessful.
This adds an excellent element to the story. I am proud of WWE taking the challenging road not just giving the title back to Super Cena. There are limitless possibilities to this ending.
